An international airport located in Essex, approximately 68 km northeast of Central London. Being a base for mainly low-cost airlines, this airport provides a connection with over 170 destinations in Europe, North Africa and Western Asia.

The airport has only one terminal, but the gates are situated in three separate satellite buildings. Satellite 3 is connected to the main terminal by an air-bridge and Satellite 1 and 2 are accessible by the Stansted Airport Transit System people mover. There is another building only a short walk from the main terminal called Advanced Passenger Vehicle (APV) which is sometimes used during peak times. The terminal itself is divided into three areas: Check-in in the front part of the building, Departures on the back left and Arrivals on the back right. There are a variety of different shops, restaurants and bars available at the airport, however, the options in the airside area are limited. Free WiFi is available throughout the terminal for four hours per registered device per day.
